The Paper Planes Journal is an English-language magazine for curious, creative young readers (middle-grade, roughly ages 8–12). Each issue pairs richly illustrated storytelling with thoughtful nonfiction across a broad range of interests—fiction, gaming, food, art, mental health, book, film and music criticism, and more. Alongside original English work, every issue presents a curated selection of short literary pieces translated from languages around the world, giving readers direct access to voices and stories they would not otherwise encounter.
The Paper Planes Journal connects global voices to middle graders, builds literary empathy through translation, and centers youth as makers and critics of their own culture.
